Founded in late sixties by the present Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Jayantibhai Jariwala, Colourtex ventured in to dyestuff manufacturing in 1976 with a modest set up in the industrial suburb of Surat, Gujarat.
Colourtex grew rapidly in four decades to become the largest producer of dyes in the Indian subcontinent.
Today, Colourtex manufacturing capabilities are unmatched with product mix of over 750 dyes from an annual installed capacity of 100,000 tons of dyes.
Colourtex today is the single most dedicated and by far the largest dyestuff company engaged in serving the textile and leather industry in the Indian subcontinent.
Colourtex owes its strength to sound infrastructure – 600,000 M3 soft water reservoir, 6.0 MW coal based cogeneration power-plant, 18 hectares of dedicated land fill site, strong backward integration (84,000 tons of dye-intermediates & additives) built over past four decades.
Well spread out marketing and distribution network backed up by full-fledged technical service facilities located in major textile & leather centers, Colourtex is reaching out to more than two thousand potential customers to provide customized solutions for coloration of textiles and leather.
An uncompromising attitude of its Chairman to environmental and ecological priorities in dyestuff manufacture & applications lends Colourtex a promising futuristic vision.
